"Brilliant." -Frontline Staff Member
Here's the thing. This is probably not what you pictured when you signed up for this.
Just about everyone is struggling to retain officers, struggling to recruit.
Low morale, difficulty with community relationships.
So many things to do every day; so much chaos.
The mental health crisis is starting to show up in every arena. Especially yours.
Being a police officer has always been an important profession. Unfortunately, it has become more difficult than ever.
So we want to make it simple.
Policing Under Pressure is a training program for your staff designed to help if you are seeing anything like this:
We want you to know it doesn't have to be this way.
Policing Under pressure is not just one more thing. It is a training program designed to gently and simply guide your team through a series of coaching sessions that address the root causes of burnout and negative community interactions.
Policing Under Pressure is a 12-month program.
It is incredibly simple.
We start with an introductory full-day in-person training that lays the foundation for organizational and systemic wellness. (Leaders complete one training, frontline staff completes another.)
Then, each month for 12 months after, we meet online for one hour together with staff and one hour with leadership. In that hour, we meet you where you are and help you with implementation.
EACH MONTH YOU RECEIVE:
When you work with us, expect more than buzzwords and feel-good phrases that don't move the needle.
Our interventions are backed by science. We give you practical and simple steps to make an impact right away.
In just one hour a month, we equip you with tools that are game-changing (and often life-changing).
Read below to learn more about the program.
Or, if you are ready now, let's get a call on the calendar to make sure it is a good fit.
Five Ives exists to help you, and we want to show you how Policing Under Pressure does just that.
POLICING UNDER PRESSURE PROGRAM CURRICULUM:
Frontline staff are equipped with resources to address the key reasons for why they are struggling and ultimately leave the profession:
The leadership training focuses on the organization-level decisions that impact officer wellness and drive positive community engagement. We will cover:
Have you ever been to a conference, loved so much about what they shared, and then went home and couldn't implement any of it because there was too much going on? Us, too! This is why we offer ongoing coaching calls throughout the 12 months following the in-person training. In each call, we offer:
Practical Strategies – You will receive practical tips or strategies based on our assessment of the department's needs following the in-person training.
Implementation Support – Your questions will be answered. You can talk through the struggles with implementing strategies and resources around officer wellness and community engagement.
Ongoing Personalized Care – These calls are a place to be heard, seen, and supported. We de-stigmatize the struggle and help you implement your vision with no judgment when there are struggles and things are hard.
It is our goal to help you create systems that help you retain officers, reduce negative community interactions, and create space for mental wellness department wide. Hear from some of our former trainees:
"Brilliant. I just don’t see this being taught anywhere."
"I appreciated the content of this training tremendously. It really got me thinking about things in a different way."
"This was so valuable! Looking forward to next month!"

That's okay. In crisis mode, it can be hard to make big decisions.
But picture what life will be like next year if you don't make a change, if things stay the way they are.
911 calls will still come in. Officers will still be walking into difficult situations every day. You will still have staffing problems. And the mental health crisis isn't going away anytime soon, so hoping things get better isn't going to work.
You need a solution that can meet you in the crisis and not be just one more thing. And you need experts who get it. That's us.
